
Gail Fast has been involved in the health and fitness industry since 1993. She has a master’s degree from Trinity College in Health Promotion Counseling and a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Maryland. Gail is responsible for L&T’s sourcing/procurement opportunities including pursuing business leads in the federal sector and working with the VP of Sales/Marketing to increase sales and revenue.
Gail is a frequent presenter and has lectured on a variety of topics such as disease prevention, nutrition, exercise and fitness, and personal health. She has presented at industry conferences such as the Athletic Business Conference; Medical Fitness Association; International Health, Recreation and Sportsclub Association conference; and Club Industry. Gail has also served as adjunct faculty at Mount Vernon College and The American University in Washington, DC.
As a member of the National Volunteer Fire Councils’ (NVFC) Work Group, Gail works closely with the NVFC to develop and implement initiatives for their innovative Heart-Healthy Firefighter Program. This program is the nation’s only heart attack awareness and prevention campaign focused on all firefighters and emergency service personnel. She has presented health and wellness workshops at a number of Fire Association conferences across the country, even as far away as Alaska. She was also asked to research and identify emerging health and safety issues in the volunteer fire service which resulted in a 2008 published report by the U.S. Fire Administration (USFA), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the NVFC.
Gail is an ACE-certified personal trainer and currently a member of the American Council on Exercise’s Industry Advisory Board.
